Atkins diet deals with how you can make a change on the metabolism of our body and reduce the weight by just simply eating food that is rich in fat and proteins and also by completely avoiding foods that contains carbohydrate. When we use more amount of carbohydrate, it may result in the production of insulin to a high level that will increase the hunger and also the weight. This is the main theory of Atkins diet. They do not give a plan that is really complicated. So it is easy for every one to follow also.
In Atkins diet there are mainly four plans namely induction, lifetime maintenance, pre maintenance and ongoing weight loss. As the stages progress the diet chart will be less restricted and the amount of carbohydrates to be eaten may also be increased. They promise not only for the weight lose but also for a healthy heart, not being hungry, good memory function and many other wellness benefits.
Atkins diet describes that when more amount of carbohydrate is used for the meals the sugar present in it will quickly enter into blood stream. This may result in the rising of the blood sugar level. So insulin is secreted immediately to maintain the rise. Insulin helps to store this sugar in to the liver. This is stored in the form of glycogen. When it is completely filled the sugar is then converted in to fat and this is very difficult to get rid off. So Atkins theory is that if the body needs to make more insulin for an increasing amount of sugar then it may result in minimum responsive to insulin. And this may lead to diabetes
Atkins says that it may be called as “unstable blood sugar” as there is a quick variation in the level of the blood sugar. Atkins diet is really amazing as we will never feel hungry and will surely loose weight also. It is of course not the latest but it is there from decades. If you follow Atkins diet you can eat delicious food and feel a better life both physically and mentally.
